From the end of last week, through the weekend, and the rest of this week we will see some satellite sun outages. These satellite sun outages cause some of our channels too drop off for anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes. Most of them happen only once per day in the afternoon or evenings and only once per channel. It is possible that it could also run into this weekend and part of next week. Please have patience as there is nothing we can do about these outages. We will be doing needed repairs/maintenance this morning (January 4th) on one of our lines servicing Buladean, Red Hill, Beans Creek, Fork Mountain, Hughes Gap, and all areas in between. We’ll restore service as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Please see below for planned fiber maintenance schedule. This is due to the new road going from Micaville to Spruce Pine. This maintenance will take care of the fiber from Crabtree through Greenwood so the road can continue working through the area.

Maintenance Location: 2 locations between Crabtree and Greenwood Rd on 19E
Description of Maintenance: Fiber Maintenance transferring to new fiber due to road construction
Impact: 6 hours downtime expected and reserving the whole window. Either the Primary or Secondary start dates will be used depending on readiness by the dates.
Locations Impacted: All areas on 19E east of Crabtree, old cable areas including Estatoe, Deer park, and Altapass/Humpback locations. All MCNC fibers from Crabtree to Greenwood (feeding Spruce Pine). The FTTH network should not be affected by this maintenance.

Description of outage: Scheduled Maintenance
CCVN staff will be balancing or physical network in order to increase the capacity of our data traffic. This should help all customers who have experienced slow internet speeds in the past due to network congestion.
CCVN staff will be working and unable to answer calls. All calls related to Internet and Phone should go to our 24/7 Technical Support. Call our office for TV support.
After the maintenance is complete if your internet or phone is still not working you may have to power cycle your modem/mta. To do so just remove power from it including battery if it has one and plug it back up.
